Mark Winton is a highly accomplished structural engineer with over 35 years of expertise in the design, engineering, analysis, and lifecycle management of Passenger, Freight and Locomotive railway rolling stock. His core strengths include design for manufacture, structural integrity assessment, fatigue and dynamic analysis, and ensuring compliance across local and international standards.

Mark has consistently provided strategic technical leadership, driving innovation and performance across complex rail vehicle projects. His deep understanding of structural behaviour and engineering risk has supported safer, more reliable, and efficient transport solutions.

Leadership

As a team leader and technical authority, Mark has guided structural engineering teams through all stages of the product lifecycle. Prior to his current role as an Associate at Rail Confidence, he had a distinguished career at UGL Limited, where he delivered outstanding structural design solutions for Passenger Car, Locomotive and Freight Wagon operators and manufacturers in both Australia and internationally.
